一個又一個的盒子呼應作者奶奶特別的收集習慣，透過逐步拆開盒子的過程，讀者得以跟著作者，一起拼湊起與阿嬤珍藏的回憶。作品描繪了多數亞洲家庭熟悉的「刀子嘴、豆腐心」，隨著長大對阿嬤的那句「真討厭」也悄悄出現轉變。
Each box echoes the grandmother’s unique collecting habits. As readers open them one by one, they follow the author in piecing together the memories cherished with her grandmother. The work portrays the familiar “sharp tongue, soft heart” often seen in many Asian families, and as the narrator grows older, even Grandma’s habitual “you’re so annoying” quietly begins to change in meaning.
