工業發展與人為的影響對於環境造成的危害日益加劇，不僅影響了氣候與環境，連帶著也影響了動物與植物的生存。五顏六色的河川加上各式各樣的廢棄垃圾造成了棲地的破壞，除了環境的汙染以外，外來物種的引進也是目前本土環境與物種面對的難題。
本書希望透過圖誌的呈現方式，以資訊結合圖像，帶領大家了解環境汙染與認識外來種入侵所帶來的危機，希望以此帶觀者了解台灣目前所面臨的生態危機。
