The story opened with a sun shower: legend has it that it was the day of the fox wedding (Kitsune no Yomeiri).
This scroll picture book uses the act of humans spying on the forbidden ceremony as a metaphor for humanity’s intrusion and resource exploitation of nature, which ultimately leads to retribution.
